Programs The learning set for IHE Junior Colleges are standardized and consists of two divisions, Lower and Upper Division, based on two school years each. There is a programs under IHE which do not follow the Lower and Upper Division model; Global Border Studies (GBS).
Higher Education programs, Lower Division Lower Division of IHE program standardize the subjects, learning units and credit hours that a student should study in order to master the subjects and are regarded as general studies (liberal studies). The students receives a diploma after finishing lower division.
The curriculum for the lower division at all junior colleges are standardized and includes: General English, Maths, Science, Social Studies, Philosophy of Education, Physical Education, Languages (Karen, Burmese and Thai) and IHE Orientation.
Students are assessed by their final examination, mid-semester examination, class work, laboratory work, reading reports, term papers, class projects, class participation and attendance.
Higher Education programs, Upper division Upper division adds two more years for students who have graduated Lower Division. Currently IHE offers the Education Program in Mae La Refugee Camp and Publbic Health Program in Umphiem Refugee Camp.
Students are assessed as in Lower Division.
Global Border Studies (GBS) The Global Border Studies is a pilot programme which was initiated in 2010. It is a collaboration between the Dundalk Institute of Technology in Ireland, KRCEE and World Education. The program aims to make students develop a deeper understanding of human rights issues, identity and ethnicity, conflict, the development of human societies and the culture of borders. It is intended to examine the themes of Borderlands between societies, within societies and within the individual ultimately challenging and inspiring students to cross many of the borders that limit personal growth, especially in a post-conflict environment
